UGC to set up Vocational Technology University?

According to recent news, University Grants Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training is to set up a University of Vocational Technology.
The public university system is in crisis. Funding is in adequate and/or is mismanaged. Students are protesting about lack of facilities. The Technical and Vocations Education system is in no better shape. Yet the government authorities in charge of these failing systems are proposing to set up more institutions.
When this bill comes into parliament the opposition better be ready to ask some hard questions.
For example:
What is the track record of the University Grants Commission and Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training in providing value for the funds allocated to them? Specifically:
1. What is the completion rate and average time to complete for each of the diploma or degree programs offered by the institutions under the jurisdiction of these authorities?
2. What is the employability of the graduates from those academic programs? viagra online asap

i have succesfully completed the national diploma in trainining technology in civil engineering NDTT and i have already completed the national certificate in building constructio technology in technical college so i want follow the degree course approved under the srilanka UGC university grands commission

I’m interested in following a UGC approved ICT degree, but I’m not qualified with Advanced Level. Is there any opportunity for me to acquire the above mentioned qualification? May I know the path for that?

I am one of the student who has followed ICT Diploma NVQ 5 & 6 at the first College of Technology. (Maradana – JSCoT). We are the pilot batch in Sri Lanka.
What will be our future. Still the exams are not held. The couse finished in 2008 December. What is the final out come.

I,am one of the student who has follow a ICT nvq level 5&6 diploma in Kandy COT.Now we have one computer lab and in level6 we have to select software..because of the less labortary facilities.we don,t know what is the final out come in following these levels..

i have succesfully completed the higher diploma in design national at national design center, katubedda Moratuwa. i want follow a degree related to graphics design, web design, animation & video editing. but there isn’t any degree in university or any institute.i hope univotec will start a degree with subjects i mention. that will be big advantage those who want to be animators or video editors.
