Our politicians and bureaucrats are riding on literacy rates and other macro indicators where we continue to do well not because of them, but in spite of them. We don't have to pump up hollow achievements like a membership in a committee when we know the ground reality of the education system in Sri Lanka and the lack of leadership shown by the minister.
