i am 17 years old, and i just completed london AL’s. i started soon after my OL’s (local) and i wanted to skip the large amount of time and effort wasted on doing local AL’s. so i decided to do london’s even if it was costly, in one year. (because of the time advantage). my opinion is, it is unfair, to close down PMC just because one man is rich, and the other man is poor. to get in to a PMC or to the gov. medical college, it takes effort. u cant just get in with low grades. And PMC clinicals is not made by attending to one hospital only, they involve a chain of private hospitals, as well as the jayawardanapura hospital.all over the world, students from all sorts of countries migrate to foreing universities, to achieve their dreams. i see nothing wrong with that at all. but if we look at the side effects,because of most of these students our money is sent abroad. we can cut down on this, by keeping these students, and traning them, within the borders of our country. and hopefully, if this expands, students from eg- india, will come here, to study, bringing in foreing exchange.but whats really important is, these trained students, will not be addicted to oversees luxury, and will prevent them from becoming permanant residents in other countries, and to actually use their talent, knowledge effort, to help to build out own country, instead of some one else’s

Expanding higher education oppertunities to many people is better. Bt the problem is the priority should be given to the person who jst missd the university entry at AL exam rather than giving chance to a big bussinesman’s son who just pass the AL exam. Because this field is entirely dealing with human lives. PMC would never based on this principle rather than seeks ways for make money.

Other thing is a good doctor is nt devoloped just readind books or attending to lectures. A good clinical work is essential. Local universities have large clinical setting which a PMC never able to provide through 1 private hospitals.

people come with foriegn degrees is a issue which cant be cured but should be controlled. they are far behind than local students. though we cant resole that problem completely should we let it getting aggravated via PMC?

This is nt making a building, or dealing with financial things Bt this is all about dealing with human lives. Thats why we should nt allow the money to occupy MBBS degree in sri lanaka.

There should be a opportunity for higher education. If the government is unable to get the giher no to the government univesities there shoul be some options. No one has right to kill the other’s future. We have to give chance to the youth. After getting their Degree they will find better jobs in foreing countries and foreing exchange will be sent to the development of education opportunites for next generation. Think broadly.

Totally disagree with above article.the SAITM doesn’t consider about Z -scores.
Think. Among the students who missed the chance to enter medical faculties because of the lack of 1 or 2 marks how many students can pay 8000000 Rs.
So this is only for high class people & ministers to give there children a degree in a easy way.

PMC in sri lanka is not to help the remaining A/L students,bt only to whome have money even though they havent pased the A/L.so,shut that stupid PMC down.he health and education must be free as it sounds.

It is true that majority of students passed the A/L do not get the chance to enter university because of limited admission … so there should be a remedy for this problems so private university is a good option..not only PMC other relavent and demanding education institutions should be allowed to establish.
